Next week's project: airplanes?

E and I were driving in the car today and we started talking about airplanes. I think it would be really neat to do a physics projects about air currents. Then, we can decorate the planes!

Unfortunately, we don't have different air current zones in the house.

Any ideas besides breaking out fans from the basement?

We know beans! A combined art and science project

Eliana had a blast with beans this weekend. We went to the library and picked out a couple of books about how beans grow. We soaked the beans to cut them open and examine the seed. We wrapped them in wet paper towels and taped them to the window to sprout.

E's tape job:

We then broke out the art box and decorated "bean nests" lined with feathers.

Indoor snow fun

I confess I did not come up with this idea myself. But, I think it's fantastic!

We have mountains of snow outside our house we haven't been playing with because I don't like standing around in the cold.

So, we brought the snow inside! We will definitely be doing this again.

Here the girls are working together to add warm water. A little experiment to see what happens.

Monster masks

I wanted to start off this week with an art project but I didn't have anything prepared! I rummaged in the kitchen and found ... paper bags!

With glitter glue, paint and feathers, we decorated the paper bags.

I cut out holes when the bags were dry.

It was a lot of fun and we'll definitely do this again.

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my blog. For the new year, I resolve to spend more quality, creative time with the girls. We all love art and science. I think we can easily do an art or science project a week.

I am creating this blog to allow me to track art and science projects. I often have a fun time with my girls but a few weeks later I cannot remember what we did!

Please comment and email with experiences of your own.

Enjoy!
